School FAQs

The Shoot

Q. Do you supply mounts for the prints?

A. No, all prints are supplied unmounted.

Q. My print looks slightly trimmed/different from the image on the proof?

A. Sometimes this occurs as we print to the most popular print sizes and through no fault of our own, they are different ratios. We feel it best to print on the most common sizes, as these sizes are easy to purchase frames for. If you've ordered a 10x8 inch print for example, it will be exactly how it appears on the proof sheet. However, If you've ordered a 6x4, it is a narrower rectangle (6 inches across and only 4 inches down compared to 10 inches across and 8 inches down on a 10x8 print.) so may appear different.
We will always try and keep the original image intact if possible but sometimes this cannot be done. If you would like any further information on this, please call the office.

Q. It looks like the top of my childs head has been trimmed in one of the photos, can I change this?

A. This is our "Extreme Close up" - We pride ourselves on taking a modern approach to photography, and we always strive to offer a range of shots. We normally try to provide your standard head and shoulders and offer some alternative artistic photos for variation. The close up shot is extremely popular and aims to enhance the details of your little one's eyes/facial features by doing an up-close portrait. It tends to look great in a simple modern frame on the wall so the focus is on them.
We've included an example of how it looks below:

Q. I would like to have my child’s photo taken. Am I under any obligation to buy from you?

A. Absolutely not. In the unlikely event you don’t like the images we have produced for you just return the proof sheet back to your group.

Q. How many photos will I get to choose from?

A. We aim to provide 2 colour and 2 B&W images per child, and then a further 2 colour and 2 B&W per sibling group. Each set will come on a separate proof sheet.

Q. Can we bring siblings along to have photos with our child who attends the school?

A. Please speak to your group to arrange this.

Q. Some photographers aren’t DBS checked. Are yours?

A. Yes, all our photographers have enhanced DBS checks, and are able to produce certificates upon request.

A. We usually keep images from a nursery or school backed up for at least 2 years. Please contact us to find out if we still have the images if your shoot was longer than 2 years.

My Order

Q. What are the single image packs?

A. These are similar to an old-school photo pack, where you choose one image and we print it in lots of different sizes for you. As the name states, they are single image packs and you cannot mix and match images within these packs as it is an automated process. They make good presents to give to family as you get a variety of sizes included. If you want to order this pack, please write down on your order form the image number of the photo you'd like, followed by small or large pack. E.G (EXMPL.193-12.03.22 - Small pack).
Please see the right hand side of the pricelist for our special offers.

Q. How long will it take to receive my order?

A. We aim to have orders back with the school within 14 working days of receiving them at the office. Please note that if you are quick to return your order to the group it may be another week or two until the group send the orders to us. Orders placed with us directly may take slightly longer depending on the time of year.

Q. My print looks slightly trimmed from the image on the proof?

However, If you've ordered a 6x4, it is a narrower rectangle (6:4 Ratio compared to a 5:4 ratio for 10x8 inch print.) so may appear different. If you would like any further information on this, please call the office.

Q. I have not received my order, why is this?

A. We do our best to turn orders round as quickly as possible, but on rare occasions there may be a reason that we cannot process your order. Usually we will attempt to contact you on the phone number provided, or through the school. Please ensure that your order form and proof sheet is submitted to us either through the group, or directly to us by post. If you have placed an order with us that you have not received please call the office will the relevant information to hand (image numbers, payment method) and we will investigate.

Q. I am unhappy with my prints. What can I do?

A. In the unlikely event you are anything but 100% happy with your order, simply return the prints you are unhappy with to us. We can replace your unwanted prints for a different image of your choice or give you a refund. PLEASE NOTE you must register your complaint with us no later than 14 days after receiving your prints. Also due to the nature of the product we are unable to give refunds on digital products.

Q. Will I be charged?

We are always happy to rectify any mistakes made our end free of charge. If, however, you change your mind about the prints you have ordered and we have already produced them; we do need to charge a reprinting, admin and postage fee to reprint and dispatch them to you. A. Concept photography owns the copyright to all images taken at our photo shoots. However, we always ask permission if we wish to use anyone’s image for advertising or display purposes.
